NTL day two wrap

first_imgBy BEN HARRISThere will be plenty of teams throwing caution to the wind in the hope their desperation can hand them a semi-finals berth at the National Touch League at Coffs Harbour.Day three is the start of the finals for six of the divisions.Sydney Rebels, Brisbane City Cobras and ACT Pirates have all confirmed their spots in the quarter-finals of the mixed open division.Rebels remain unbeaten in Pool A and palmed off South Queensland Sharks, their nearest rivals, on day two.In the other top of the table clash in Pool B, the Cobras defeated the Pirates 7-5 and look set to top that division.Hunter Western Hornets appear to be the team to beat in the women’s T-League as they are the only undefeated side left. They lead by four points in Pool B from Cobras and Sydney Scorpions, while it’s much tighter in Pool A with South West Queensland Swans holding onto a slender lead from the Sunshine Coast Pineapples and South Australia Heat. The Queensland sides continue to lead the way in the men’s T-League with North Queensland Tropical Cyclones and Cobras levelled on the same number of points in Pool A.Central Queensland Bulls (A) remain undefeated in Pool B with Sydney Scorpions second.Scorpions remain undefeated in the men’s 30s but hot on their tails are the Pineapples and the Sharks. The Sharks and Pineapples are also in the mix for the women’s 35s as they are one and two respectively while Hornets are in third spot.Scorpions lead in the men’s 40s with a host of teams in a log-jam behind them, while in the women’s 40s the Swans and Hornets are on the same number of points. The men’s 45s is a battle between the Scorpions and the Sharks, and in the senior mixed, Scorpions lead the way in that division. The Queensland sides are in front in the men’s 50s and men’s 55s divisions.Sharks (A), Pineapples and the Cyclones occupy the first three positions but there are five teams all within a win of each other.Only a huge form reversal will deny the Cyclones victory in the men’s 55s as they have all of their matches and lead the division by 12 points.Day three is finals day with the first lot of finals beginning at 4.45pm.You can keep up-to-date with all of the latest news and information from the 2015 National Touch League in the following ways: Websites www.ntl.mytouchfooty.com www.touchfootball.com.au Social Media Facebook – www.facebook.com/touchfootballaustralia Twitter – www.twitter.com/touchfootyaus (be sure to use the hashtag #NTL2015) Instagram – www.instagram.com/touchfootballaustralia YouTube – www.youtube.com/touchfootballaus (live streaming of select games will occur, stay tuned to www.touchfootball.com.au for all of the links)Related LinksNTL day twolast_img
