AirAsia India recently announced its network expansion plans by adding its first route to Chennai from Kolkata. AirAsia India now connects Kolkata and Chennai with one daily flight. AirAsia India currently operates 18 flights connecting 11 destinations from Kolkata on a daily basis.The launch fare for the new connection between Kolkata and Chennai is INR 3299. Flights to the new route commenced from June 1, 2019. With the introduction of the Kolkata-Chennai route to its network, AirAsia India is truly keeping up with its mission of making everyone fly.Speaking about the development, Sanjay Kumar, COO, AirAsia India said “Kolkata is a key market for AirAsia India as we currently operate 18 flights to 11 different destinations. The addition of this new route will strengthen our connectivity in the east.”AirAsia India will operate daily flights which will depart from Kolkata at 15.30 hours and from Chennai at 18.25 hours.AirAsia India currently has a fleet of 20 aircrafts covering 19 interesting destinations across the country.
